At Little Greene we have always been totally committed to the ongoing well-being and protection of the world environment. In 2004, we were one of the first UK paint manufacturers to achieve the European environmental standard BS EN ISO 14001.

Water-Based Paints

All our water-based paints carry the industry's lowest eco-rating, with VOC content now virtually zero. This means that you don't need to worry about solvent contributions to the atmosphere, any respiratory issues, or nasty smells; our eco-paints are virtually odourless.

Oil-Based Paints

Oil-based paints are traditionally favoured because of their renowned longevity and superb finish. Little Greene oil-based paints have been reformulated using sustainable vegetable oils, without compromising on their unrivalled quality.

Non-toxic Wallpapers

The paper used in our wallpapers is responsibly sourced from sustainable forests. For every tree used, another four are planted. The pigments that we use to print our eco wallpaper designs are completely non-toxic.

Solvent-free Wallpaper Paste

To ensure the best results, we recommend pairing our wallpapers with our high-quality adhesive paste. Our wallpaper paste is an easy-to-use solution that contains no solvents.

Low Impact Manufacturing

In striving to be sustainable, we must look beyond our products themselves. Our eco-friendly practices extend to our packaging and manufacturing.

Recycled Paint Tins

Our paint tins are made using over 50% recycled steel and can be recycled again. We are continually developing our packaging and warehousing procedures to increase the content of recycled and recyclable material and have achieved a waste reduction of 57% in the last three years.

We’re also dedicated to recycling beyond our paint tins: all of our paperwork is printed on recycled or sustainably sourced paper.

All our paints and wallpapers are manufactured in the UK and we actively source from suppliers who can match our commitment to local industries. We're dedicated to minimising pollution, energy consumption and distribution overheads whilst supporting the local business community.

Child-Safe Interiors

Our paints are developed with little ones in mind, so you can be sure your space is safe from any unwanted chemicals.

Safe for Children

We offer the safest, hard-wearing choices for decorating children's rooms and furniture. Our Absolute Matt Emulsion, Intelligent Matt Emulsion and Intelligent Eggshell paints have been tested to European Standard EN 71-3: 2019. This means they are completely safe to use in all areas of the home as they don't contain any dangerous ingredients.

Re:mix

Over 50 million litres of paint are left unwanted across the UK each year. Much of this leftover paint is incinerated or left in landfill. This is harmful to the environment and wastes the precious raw materials within the paint.

At Little Greene, we have developed intelligent blending techniques that allow us to reuse our leftover and unwanted paint. Re:mix is a collection of honest, upcycled colours that reformulates waste paint into a beautiful, matt finish for interior walls and ceilings.

By upcycling these unwanted paints, we prevent as much as 60,000 litres of high-quality mineral and organic raw materials from going to waste each year.

Absolute Matt Emulsion

Our flattest, chalkiest paint finish has received a huge upgrade to its eco credentials. Now, every tin of Absolute Matt Emulsion is made up of 40% recycled content, thanks to the introduction of a new, high-quality resin – the bit that binds all the ingredients together.

Choose this eco-friendly paint finish for a ‘barely-there’ 1-2% sheen that brings a rich, sumptuous quality to darker hues and a delicate chalkiness to light, muted shades. Its gentle, water-based formula is kind to your home and kind to the environment. Certified child-safe, it contains no added VOCs and minimal odour, so it’s safe to use in all areas of the home.

Is Little Greene paint eco-friendly?

All of our paint finishes and shades are eco-friendly. We manufacture our products responsibly and we use natural, organic pigments to keep our impact as low as possible. Our paint is available in water-based and oil-based solutions, so you can achieve a luxury finish without compromising your sustainable values.

Is Little Greene Paint toxic?

Our paint is tested against European Standard EN 71-3:2019, this means it is completely safe for children as there are no dangerous toxic materials within the paint. You can use our paints throughout the home, knowing that you and your little ones are in safe hands.

Is Little Greene paint solvent free?
